UFC icon Georges St-Pierre made a special visit to the Wabaseemong Child Welfare Authority on June 5th, 2024, to speak with young people about the importance of self-belief and dedication in achieving one’s goals.
St-Pierre, a two-division UFC champion known for his exceptional work ethic and mental fortitude, addressed the children and shared his personal journey to the top of the mixed martial arts world. He emphasized the importance of perseverance and hard work, stressing that success is not achieved overnight but comes through consistent effort and a never-give-up attitude.
“There will be challenges,” St-Pierre told the children, “but if you believe in yourself and keep pushing forward, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.” One of the more memorable quotes of his visit was “Success is the best revenge“.
The Wabaseemong Child Welfare Authority provides support and services to First Nations children and families of Wabaseemoong Independent Nations. St-Pierre’s visit served as a significant encouragement to the young people, many of whom face challenges in their own lives.
