Bianca & Hannah

WCWA is celebrating the recent success of two individuals who have completed their treatment journey. The program, which offers support and resources for those seeking recovery, has seen two community members from Wabaseemoong, Hannah and Bianca, successfully complete their treatment plans.  It takes a massive amount of courage to ask for help, and almost endless strength to complete the journey to a healthier lifestyle.  We are immensely proud of these two young mothers for staying the course.

Hannah had this to say…

Hannah & family While fighting alcohol addiction and struggling with my mental health, as well as the hardship of being a single mother, I realized it was time for a change when my daughters got taken away from me. I realized at the time I needed help for myself to be better & stronger for my daughters. My daughters were my motivation when I was at Aurora. I was giving a second chance at treatment so this time I gave it the best I could and now I’m back home with my daughters! I would like to say a big thank you to WCWA for helping me out in every way possible and especially the amazing people at Aurora Recovery Centre❤️ My immediate/future plans are to live life with my kids, to be happy, and stay sober. I’ve been sober for 79 days now! My goals I have next is to graduate, get my own vehicle. And sometime in the future getting a house to call home😊 ~ Hannah

and Bianca had this to say…

Bianca and her first born I decided it was time to change when I noticed my addiction was getting out of control. I knew I should do something about it & get help before it got too bad because I didn’t want to lose my daughter in the process. My biggest motivation during the transition of being away & getting help was my daughter. Reminding myself that my daughter and I deserve better than addiction was a big part of helping me to succeed at treatment. My immediate & future plans are to find a place to settle down, & start a healthy life with my daughter.

WCWA has a Specialized Services Team which uses a multi-step process to ensure the clients are best served. All steps in the process can happen consecutively or run concurrently depending on the needs of the client.  Mental Health Workers Forest and Kathleen provide crucial programming support and information regarding treatment options.  Mental Health Counselor Alex offers a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment in which she provides client-centered and holistic therapy before and/or after treatment.

Treatment Care Coordinator Larissa Hrabec plays a key role in facilitating the intake process, working directly with clients, workers, and treatment centers. Larissa also provides comprehensive information about available treatment programs to both clients and their families. Throughout the treatment process, she remains actively involved, monitoring progress and ensuring clients receive the necessary support and comfort.

The Specialized Services Team is not a 24hr service, however the team makes itself available in the event of a crisis or emergency.
